Illinois Beta Epsilon was established in 1971 by 10 teachers who worked in District 158 in Lansing, Illinois.  Our chapter is comprised of members who reside in suburbs southeast of Chicago and in Northeast Indiana.  In recent years the majority of our members have retired from teaching, with two of our members still working as fulltime teachers.  Many of our retired teachers continue to be actively involved with children by substitute teaching, volunteering in schools, and tutoring.
